Throwing a safe NYE event

A lot of otherwise sensible and staid people use New Year's Eve as an excuse to go absolutely wild. It can be great fun watching people having a good time on New Year's Eve, but as an event organiser I also need to put a lot of effort into making sure that the night is safe for everyone that attends. People don't realise that I spend most of the year getting our NYE events in order, just so that they can have a magical night. This blog is for people organising events like New Year's Eve parties in their communities, who want to ensure the safety of the participants.

Tips for Choosing a Wedding Venue

Blog

One of the most vital considerations to make when planning a wedding is the wedding venue. As a rule, the wedding venue has to be appealing because you want positive lasting memories of the day. This article discusses the various other considerations that you should make when choosing a wedding venue

The wedding theme

The wedding venue should be in line with the wedding theme. For instance, an outdoor venue would go well with a tropical, estate or garden-themed wedding. On the other hand, indoor venues work well with rustic, vintage and barn-themed weddings.

Weather

If you intend to hold the wedding during cold and chilly months, do not subject your guests to freezing temperatures by choosing an outdoor venue. You may also want to avoid outdoor venues if there is a forecast of adverse weather conditions such as storms and cyclones.

The number of guests

The venue that you choose should accommodate all your guests. Ensure that there is adequate space for aisles to ease the movement of people in the venue. Caterers should have sufficient space to serve food and drinks for your guests. If you have a band performing, the stage should be wide enough.

Convenience

The venue must be accessible. Avoid locations that might be hard for guests to navigate to. Also, the area should be secure. You can hire security guards or engage local law enforcement to boost security on your wedding day. Look for a venue that has adequate parking space for your guests. You may also ask your guests to park their vehicles in nearby parking lots. Some weddings have different venues for the wedding ceremony, reception and evening party. The venues should not be very far from each other. If the area is prone to traffic jams, you may choose to hold the wedding and reception in one place. In such a way, you avoid disorganisation and time wastage.

Availability and budget

Visit the venue and inquire if it will be available on your wedding day. Remember that you might need to put up décor and do rehearsals on the wedding eve. It is easy to find a venue if you are flexible with your wedding date. As such, avoid sending out invitations before getting a wedding venue. Also, inquire about the costs of hiring the venue. Avoid going beyond your venue budget because you might have to compromise on other wedding essentials.

When choosing a wedding venue, consider the wedding theme, weather, number of guests, convenience, availability and budget.
